About Rebecca

Rebecca developed an interest in the laser cutting process after graduating, becoming drawn to the technique in which she could develop endless possibilities and applications.

After making various pieces of jewellery for friends and family, she to set up the label Working Clasp to offer a range of eye catching and distinct laser cut and etched pieces to a wider audience.

“I find inspiration for my work from a combination of drawing and found imagery from the world around me and like to use sections of my drawings as a starting point. I am always working on new designs combining various materials such as painted wood, acrylic and fabric to create intricate collage pieces. I also love doing commissions for people like my pet portraits and custom bridal headdresses, I love making peoples creative visions come to life! ”

Rebecca has attended many arts and crafts markets and gained a following in Birmingham where her ‘alrighbab’ necklaces are worn with Brummie pride. She sells her work at various outlets including the Ikon gallery, Midlands art centre and Enki Independent Jewellers.

My Ethos

I care about the sustainability of my products. I understand the impact that fast fashion and plastics can have on our environment and that is why I make thoughtfully designed products that I hope you will treasure for a lifetime.

You can be certain you are buying a product that has been made with care, whilst supporting independent British design.

Most of the acrylic I use is sourced from factory offcuts and any minimal scraps offcuts get donated to local community projects to make mosaics.
